The 9th Grade!

Ok, all I want you guys to know is that, it has almost 2 months since school started and I am enjoying my 9th class! It’s really fun with all the jokes going around. Well like always I’m seated where I love to, the last bench! It’s not because I don’t study well or anything, but there’s where all the fun happens with the circulation of jokes and chattering! I really do miss Navya though. She laughs at my jokes but Pratyusha doesn’t seem to be enjoying them. We play a lot in the class and keep STD (Stare/Truth/Dare) between the times the teachers come.

My class teacher (she teaches Math), well I THINK SHE HAS DECENTED FROM HELL! MAN SHE’S THE LIMIT! She never smiles or does she make any jokes in the class and never listens to our complaints. I really hate her so much that there aren’t enough words to describe her! Except to call her a devil/witch! All the other teachers are nice excluding our physics and chemistry sir. They’re both like… nutcases???

Well now that only 2 months has passed, my exams are on the track too!!! They’re starting from the 17th, just a day after Independence Day! Cruel right! Even my Unit testes are over and I scored 88% with lot of effort and full in Social Science and Hindi, which I’m really happy! :)

So catch ya’ll soon with another post!

The Tombs of Etruria

Well, now that I've joined Journalism, I'll be posting some of the articles that I've written, so enjoy! ^_^
Archaeologists in Italy recently discovered a 2000-year-old ointment filled jar. This was found in a cosmetic case along with other personal objects in the tomb of an aristocratic Etruscan woman called Thana Presenti Plecunis Umranalisa, who lived in the 2nd century BC.

The Etruscan civilization is an ancient one, much older than the Romans and the Greeks. It flourished in the area that is known today as Italy, to the north of Rome, between the rivers Tiber and Arno, from the 9th to the 1st century BC.
The ancient Greek name for the area was Tyrrhenia or Tyrsenia, while the Romans called the country Etrusci or Tusci, from which the modern name Tuscany comes. Archaeologists and historians call it Etruria.

The Etruscans came from Asia Minor, and settled along the coast of Tuscany. Their first permanent settlements, Vetulonia and Tarquinii (now Tarquinia), are believed to date to about the end of the 9th century BC. This civilization reached its height in the 7th and 5th century BC. Their power began to decline after the people of Syracuse, in a sea battle defeated them in the 5th century BC. In 396 BC, after a siege of almost a decade over, the city of Veii was defeated by Rome. Over the next two centuries, the Romans conquered them and by the end of the 1st century BC, their culture was wiped out by Roman culture.

The Etruscans were highly skilled people, and farmed and traded with other peoples. They made very beautiful articles of terra cotta, stone and especially of bronze. They were great artists, which, could be seen from the wall paintings, and realistic portraits found in their tombs.

Although the Etruscans had their own alphabet, there are hardly and manuscripts to be found. Only one long manuscript, a religious text written on 12 strips of linen, now exists: this is preserved in the museum of Zagreb, in Croatia. Information about this civilization was known mainly from the excavation of the Etruscan Tombs. It was in one such tomb that the ointment was discovered. It is an amazing discovery, made even more startling by the fact that it was preserved almost intact, due to the formation of a layer of clay over the cosmetic side. Chemical testing has even revealed what was it made of: the ingredients include, among others, moringa oil, pine resin and mastic resin.

P.S >> I love history and I plan to become an Archaeologists/Journalist one day.

Lost in Loneliness and Sadness…

First of all I know that I’d not been blogging for a few days and I’m sure you should have known the reason. Anyway, I think I’ll TRY to blog as much as I can because my dad said that the net would come in a few days and currently I’m in the Net Café. Coming back to the topic let me tell you all everything about it…

The past few days have been really ‘sad and lonely’ for me. Well first of all I really don’t know what has happened to Navya (Docks/Ann/Eva). She has been acting real strange and she never responds ‘properly’ to me. The last time she spoke properly to me was when we had attended an external essay writing competition. She was alright then, but then the next she just seemed to ‘ignore’ me and acted like I never existed. When I used to call her she just brushes past me to another girl or goes into her class. I really want to know what’s gotten into her but she doesn’t stop to hear my question. I don’t go back into the class, because I don’t want her to feel I am stalking her, I just want us to be BFF and I also want her to be her old self when she is with me.

Even in journalism when Ma’am had told me to go and get the students and to get them typing, all of them except Navya didn’t co-operate with me and was out ‘til ma’am had come. And when I had asked her for a sheet of paper, she said ‘No, I can’t give ‘cause I don’t want to waste paper’. I was really hurt and pissed off then! When I persisted on the sheet of paper she resisted me and was against giving me paper. She doesn’t even seem to be enthusiastic when I tell her any exciting news or the latest music hits. She just answers everything seriously sarcastically!

All of this makes me really sad and I get really lonely. There’s something which I has said no one not even my parents or Pratyusha (my bench mate) or Docks. When Navya left IX – B and shifted her class to IX – D, she was so happy… for a moment I thought that she was happy ‘cause she was parting ways with me or something like that and all others who were shifting to were happy and were telling me happily that they were really happy in shifting to the D section. I showed a happy face and didn’t say anything.

But when I returned home I thought about how they were and happy Navya was when she left me… and I started to cry. Something, which I had never done when anyone left me – the last, was at 3rd grade when my cousins left me… I cried real hard until I realized that we never get what we want the most…

Sometimes when I want to know how she was to me before, I always read the greeting card, which she gave me on my birthday, and I really loved that greeting card. That card to me is like a remembrance of what the old friendly Navya was to me and I really want her to be like the way she was to me. Right from that day that sadness started to subside slowly until lately when Navya started to act strange.
Navya, please be nice to me again…
I hope you’d have understood by now and don’t ignore me…

Shakugan no Shana

Shakugan no Shana (灼眼のシャナ?, lit. Shana of the Burning Eyes), also known simply as Shana, is a series of Japanese light novels and related media works written by Japanese novelist Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrated by Noizi Ito centering around Yuji Sakai, an ordinary Japanese high school boy who inadvertently becomes involved in a perpetual war between forces of balance and imbalance in existence. In the process, he befriends the title character: a fighter for the balancing force, whom he takes to calling "Shana". The series incorporates science fiction, fantasy, and slice-of-life "school days" elements into its tale.

Plot
Yuji Sakai, a high school student, expected his very normal life to last forever. However, this expectation is quickly shattered one day while on his way home.

The world suddenly freezes in time, leaving Yuji to watch in horror as blue flames engulf the people around him. Soon a monster resembling a large doll appears and begins sucking the flames into its mouth, until it notices Yuji. Surprised with Yuji's insusceptibility to the time-stop (fuzetsu), it jumps with glee.

Just as the monster prepares to consume Yuji, a sword-wielding girl in black attire with flaming red eyes and hair appears, swiftly and confidently destroys the monster, before noticing Yuji moving freely. The girl calls herself a "Flame Haze" who hunts the "Denizens of the Crimson Realm" and the "Rinne" they send to do their bidding. When Yuji notices a blue flame in his chest, the Flame Haze tells him that the "real" Yuji died some time ago, and that he is a "Torch", a temporary replacement for erased humans. Torches take on the forms of those erased persons, but after a period of time, they will vanish from existence and the memories of the living. Unfazed by his apparent death, Yuji befriends the strange girl and names her "Shana" after her sword. The reason Yuji was able to move in the fuzetsu is that he is not a normal Torch, but instead a special kind called a "Mystes": he has a treasure inside him, known as a "Hougu", a device possessing special abilities of sorts, and an extremely powerful and valuable one at that. The hougo inside Yuji allows him to remain in existence rather than fading away like other torches. Shana resolves to protect Yuji from the Denizens, who would use the treasure to disrupt the balance of the world, and Yuji decides to join Shana in her fight.

Shana's fight is actually a long-standing struggle between the Lords and Denizens of Guze. The Denizens steal Power of Existence, the energy that forms the basis of the world, from living people and utilize it for their own selfish ambitions. Some Lords inhabit humans creating Flame Hazes in an attempt to retain balance by hunting renegades from Guze. Flame Hazes create Torches in place of the consumed to save the world the disruption of many existences being lost at once, allowing the Torches to gradually burn out over the course of time.
